Piano
Music picks up where words leave off, we often hear. However, I’ve always thought that music is no more powerful a communication tool than words, it simply touches us in different ways. Ideally, I find, music and words work together and compliment each other.
Starting at the age of 12, I pursued the piano wholeheartedly and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance from the renowned Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University Bloomington from 1998 to 2002, where I studied with the late Edmund Battersby. During that time, I also spent a semester in Vienna with Antoinette van Zabner. My many years as a classical pianist instilled in me a desire to communicate with people, as well as teaching me discipline, self-awareness, and a deep appreciation for the individuals that make up an audience of any kind.
